We Taste Tested Steak Cooked in a Dishwasher

Earlier this month, The Bobby Bones Show was talking about a podcaster who decided to cook his steak in a dishwasher. He said it made a perfect steak that all he had to do was sear for a couple minutes after.

We decided to put the theory to the test to see if it actually worked. Sam Hunt's brother Ben Hunt reached out to the show after hearing them talk about the experiment. Hunt owns Hunt and Lovvorn Cattle Co in Alabama so he sent a bunch of meats to the studio for them to use. Eddie pulled out one of the steaks and kept it enclosed in the packaging. He through the steak into the work dishwasher, along with some dirty dishes that were already there and set it on the normal cycle. After 1 hour of the cycle running, Eddie pulled out the steak and it did not look ready to consume.

The show was super nervous about how the steak looked and no one volunteered to take a bite right away. Eddie brought in his portable grill to sear the steak for 1 minute on each side, he also added a little bit of seasoning to the steak before searing it.

Bobby was the first to take a small bite and he thought it tasted like salmon. Amy went next and she took a decent bite admitting it actually tasted good. Eddie went next and he didn't hate it. Lunchbox took the last bite and admitted he actually liked the taste. Bobby almost took a full bite for a second time, but he couldn't do it looking at the texture and all the blood. He was worried about getting sick.
