Morgan has been a "long hauler" otherwise known as Long COVID sufferer for years now. She never regained her smell since getting COVID for the first time over four years ago, some of her taste is still gone so some things taste like soap, she has memory issues, and also believers her BPPV (vertigo) episodes are connected as well.
Some people in the medical field have suggested she gives nicotine patches a try for a week to help with regaining her smell and taste, but nicotine worries her because she's never smoked a cigarette in her life. She's worried about the addictive properties and that she could potentially have a negative reaction. Bobby suggested she work with her doctor to decide if it would be the best fit for her to try and utilize their knowledge to outweigh the risks and benefits.
Lunchbox's wife actually told him about using nicotine patches recently. She told him her doctor suggested nicotine patches to stop her from getting strep throat because it's been an issue lately. Lunchbox called her an idiot for thinking of doing this because nicotine is addictive. Now he's questioning whether his wife and her doctor were onto something.
