Reba McEntire Shares Heartfelt Response To Son's Brandon Blackstock Tribute

Reba McEntire shared a heartfelt comment on her son’s tribute to Brandon Blackstock.

McEntire’s son, Shelby Blackstock, honored his late brother, Brandon Blackstock, in a post on Friday (August 8). Brandon Blackstock, a talent manager, “passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family” on Thursday (August 7) after a years-long battle with cancer. He was 48.

“Words cannot begin to capture the tremendous loss our family has endured. Yesterday, we lost a brother, a father, a grandfather, and a son. Brandon Blackstock was an irreplaceable part of our family—funny, bright, and full of life—and he will be deeply missed,” Shelby Blackstock wrote, in part, on Instagram. “We will always miss you, Brandon, and we will never stop loving, remembering and celebrating you.”

“Very well said Shelby. Yes we will miss him so much.💔💔🙏💔❤️❤️❤️🙏💔,” McEntire wrote in a comment on Monday (August 11).

McEntire welcomed Shelby Blackstock with her ex-husband, Narvel Blackstock, whom she married in 1989 and divorced in 2015. Though Brandon Blackstock was McEntire’s stepson, the legendary country star considered him a son. She said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight  in 2021 that “Brandon's been my son forever it seems. Although he's my stepson, I still love him like he's my total — my blood…”

Brandon Blackstock is survived by children Savannah and Seth from a previous marriage, grandson Lake, and children River and Remington, whom he shares with ex-wife Kelly Clarkson. Savannah also recently announced she’s pregnant with another child.
