The Country Music Association revealed early 59th CMA Awards winners on Wednesday morning (November 19), hours ahead of the star-studded show.
Post Malone and Blake Shelton won the CMA Award in the Musical Event of the Year category for “Pour Me A Drink,” a collaboration that appeared on Post’s highly-anticipated country record, F-1 Trillion. Louis Bell and Charlie Handsome teamed up to produce it. Ella Langley and Riley Green won CMA Music Video of the Year for their viral duet, “you look like you love me,” appearing on Langley’s debut studio record. Langley directed the video with John Park and Wales Toney. Lara Spencer revealed the early winners live on Good Morning America from Honky Tonk Central in downtown Nashville, Tennessee, per a press release issued Wednesday morning.
Lainey Wilson is hosting Country Music’s Biggest Night for her second consecutive year. She made her hosting debut last year with Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning. This time, the Whirlwind superstar is hosting the show solo. She’s the third female artist to solo host the CMA Awards in Country Music Association history, following Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire. Wilson said at a press conference earlier this week that it’s “wild, and she has “some big ol’ shoes to fill, (and) I don’t take it lightly.”
Wilson will take the stage as a performer, along with Kelsea Ballerini, Brandi Carlile, Kenny Chesney, Riley Green, Miranda Lambert, Patty Loveless, Old Dominion, The Red Clay Strays, Chris Stapleton, BigXthaPlug, Luke Combs, Ella Langley, Megan Moroney, Shaboozey, Zach Top, Tucker Wetmore, and Stephen Wilson Jr. The Country Music Association announced on Monday (November 17) — along with presenters and special guests — that Keith Urban and Little Big Town also joined the lineup.
