Jo Dee Messina covered Megan Moroney’s breakout single during a recent show, and the Emo Cowgirl shared her reaction.

Messina played ā€œTennessee Orangeā€ when she took the stage in Moroney’s hometown of Douglasville, Georgia, and shared a clip of her performance on TikTok and Instagram on Sunday (August 17). The ā€œHeads Carolina, Tails Californiaā€ icon caught Moroney’s attention. She wrote in the comments that the cover was ā€œamazing šŸ§”šŸ˜,ā€ and shared Messina’s rendition on her instagram story on Monday (August 18).

ā€œI met somebody, and he's got blue eyes/ He opens the door, and he don't make me cry/ He ain't from where we're from, but he feels like home/ Yeah, he's got me doing things I've never done/ In Georgia, they'd call it a ā€˜sin’/ I’m wearing Tennessee orange for himā€

Moroney released her award-winning breakout single on her powerful debut studio album, Lucky, in 2023. Moroney’s first record also included ā€œI’m Not Pretty,ā€ the title track, ā€œGirl in the Mirrorā€ and more. She followed it with her highly-anticipated sophomore project, Am I Okay?, last summer, and most recently, the reigning Country Music Association New Artist of the Year has delivered ā€œ6 Months Later.ā€Ā Watch Messina's rendition of Moroney's breakout single here:
