A collapsed drainpipe has led to the closure of lanes on Interstate 80 in Rockway Township. According to state transportation officials, the left lane and shoulder on the eastbound side near milepost 37 are closed. The lanes will remain closed until repairs are completed. This is the latest in a series of disruptions on I-80, where crews have been working for months to address sinkholes near Wharton.

Senate Republican Leader Anthony M. Bucco has been keeping residents informed about the ongoing repairs. He stated that two teams are working on both the eastbound and westbound sides to expedite the process. The eastbound side is expected to have two lanes reopened by mid-May, while the westbound side aims for a full reopening by June 25. Bucco expressed appreciation for the patience of residents, commuters, and businesses during this challenging time.

The repair work is crucial to ensure the safety and quality of the highway infrastructure. As the repairs continue, officials are monitoring progress and exploring ways to accelerate the timeline. The community's understanding and cooperation are vital as these necessary repairs advance.
