Pocono Raceway in Monroe County will host the Great American Getaway 400, a NASCAR Cup Series event, on Sunday, June 22. Governor Josh Shapiro announced the race's return, highlighting its significance in promoting Pennsylvania's tourism and economy. The 160-lap, 400-mile race, presented by VISITPA.COM, will be streamed live on Amazon Prime Video, reaching audiences in 195 countries in over 29 languages.

The event is part of a NASCAR tripleheader weekend, which includes the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race on Friday, June 20, and the Xfinity Series race on Saturday, June 21. This annual event draws fans from all 50 states and 13 countries, contributing an estimated $75 to $100 million to the local economy. Governor Shapiro emphasized the importance of the race in showcasing Pennsylvania's attractions, from sports and outdoor activities to its rich history and vibrant communities.

Pocono Raceway, also known as 'The Tricky Triangle,' has been a key player in providing national and international exposure for Pennsylvania through NASCAR's global popularity. Ben May, President of Pocono Raceway, expressed excitement over the continued partnership with the state, noting that more than 60 percent of fans travel from out of state or internationally.
