Morgan Evans offered a hint of what listeners can expect from his highly-anticipated EP, set to release on Friday (April 21). The Australian country singer-songwriter will open up about the personal journey that followed “unexpected heartbreak,” moving on with “self-rediscovery (and) new beginnings.”
The 5-track collection, Life Upside Down, includes Evans’ heartache ballad “Over For You” — including his live version from a performance in in Melbourne — and the hopeful song seeing him rediscover life “On My Own Again” after divorce. However, Evans said he’ll juxtapose the heartbreak with positivity.
“It’s a collection of songs that could only have come from this time in my life,” he wrote in an Instagram caption on Thursday morning (April 20). “After the heaviness of Over For You and On My Own Again, the two new tunes coming this Friday, ‘Hey Little Mama’ and ‘All Right Here’ are, quite possibly, the two most joyful sounding records I’ve ever made. They’re about finding light in the dark and finding gratitude in the little things, which as we all know are actually the big things!”
