Discovering Nature - a spring hike to explore Lusscroft's vernal pools and the incredible creatures that call them home.

A vernal pool is a temporary wetland that forms in spring and usually dries up by late summer. During this magical time, these pools become hubs of biodiversity, attracting a myriad of fascinating species - many of which are often elusive or hidden from our everyday view.

Meet at 2:00pm in the parking lot by the Lusscroft Carriage House on 50 Neilson Rd., Wantage. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Boots recommended! Dogs are welcome but must be leashed. Hike is led by Kevin Mitchell, who once lived and worked at Lusscroft.

Pre-Register for this hike by emailing the number in your party to Kevin at lusscroftfarm@gmail.com. The hike is free but donations are always appreciated for Lusscroft restoration projects.

Presented by the Heritage and Agriculture Association, Inc., in cooperation with the NJ DEP/Division of Parks and Forestry.
