NJ.com reported that Katie Curran Darcy, of Summit, NJ wanted to find a way to support healthcare workers who are working through and battling against the coronavirus.
Curran Darcy took quick action by texting friends and creating a Summit-based Facebook group known as Front-line Appreciation Group (FLAG) in hopes of raising money to buy hot meals from local restaurants to feed the healthcare workers of Overlook Medical Hospital.
Curran Darcy has helped raise over $32,000, with more than $20,000 of that being raised within the FIRST 24 HOURS. The FLAG Summit group has also acquired up to 1,000 members since it opened last week.
"We are all hurting and wanted to do something," Curran Darcy said.
FLAG Summit has been making two deliveries daily to the Overlook Medical Center, which has provided meals to feed about 100 workers each day.
