According to the New Jersey Herald, the Sparta School District "obtained an injunction implementing a temporary period of home instruction" for a 15-year-old student who has autism.

According to the article, he is barred from physically attending school for a certain period, although he will be allowed to try out for the golf team.

After the Sparta School District submitted a petition in February arguing that the boy was a danger to himself and others, an administrative law judge issued an order, dated Feb. 21.

The petition stated that the school wanted him barred from participating in all school and extracurricular activities and compelled his parents to put him in a program of home instruction for at least 45 days.

The school testified that the boy had a "somewhat successful freshman year" of participating in a variety of extracurricular activities but various incidents began his sophomore year, including breaking a desk.
