38th Annual Thomas Edison Black Maria Film Festival Returns to Sparta

According to the Sparta Independent, Train Creative announced that the 38th Annual Thomas Edison Black Maria Film Festival is returning to the Sparta Train Station on Friday, June 14.

A screening will be hosted by the Festival's Executive Director, Jane Steuerwald, with a special Q & A.

There will also be a complimentary wine tasting at 6:30 p.m. prior to the screening which will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The festival includes short films that "shine a light on issues and struggles with contemporary society."

Steuerwald said, "The Sparta community embraced the Festival last year as we screened for a sold-out crowd that was engaged and excited about the films." "We are pleased to bring the magic of short filmmaking back to the Sparta Train Station again this year," she continued.
