A 17-year-old girl from Toms River who was missing for over five days has been located "safe and sound" by township police detectives.

Ashley Combs was located safely on Wednesday night (March 27), but there are still questions as to why she disappeared. Combs' uncle and legal guardian, Rob Nieratko, thanked the police for their efforts in finding her, but did not have any additional comments.

The Toms River police are expecting to release additional details later today (March 28).

Attorney Jef Henninger - representing Combs' legal guardians said, "There are a lot of unanswered questions and I know everyone is wondering where she was and how she was found." He continued saying, "I do not know when I will receive more information or if I will be limited in what information I can disclose."
