Here's today's feel-good story:
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs set a goal to prevent homelessness back in February.
Now, in November, that goal of housing 38,000 veterans is close to being realized.
VA homeless programs average 3,434 placements per month and to meet the goal, they would have to average 2,362 veterans through December.
“All Veterans deserve to have what they need to lead healthy, safe, and successful lives—that starts with a place to call home,” said HUD Secretary Marcia L. Fudge. “The data released today shows we are closer than ever in ensuring that every Veteran in America has a home.”
