A cherished Northern New Jersey tradition returns as Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church hosts its annual summer carnival in Sparta. Running from Tuesday, July 7, through Saturday, July 11, 2026, this year's event marks its largest iteration yet, debuting an expanded lineup of 15 major rides alongside 10 classic boardwalk-style game booths. A standout highlight of the week includes a special "Faith & Freedom" patriotic night on Thursday, July 9, honoring America’s 250th anniversary with themed festivities and a guest appearance by Uncle Sam. The carnival features live entertainment throughout the week, including a daily DJ and a live band on Friday night, alongside an array of classic carnival food, grilled favorites, fresh pizza, and a community bake sale. Anchored by the popular "White Elephant" giant yard sale, a significant portion of all event proceeds will directly support the church's sister parish in Haiti, blending local summer fun with global charitable outreach.
The carnival takes place at Our Lady of the Lake Church, located at 294 Sparta Avenue in Sparta, New Jersey, with free parking available on-site.
